About Crossfield Engineering Crossfield Engineering is the business name of Fabricated Metals Ltd and is the name by which we are widely known. The company was founded in 1949 in the Cross Smithfields area of Sheffield from which the Crossfield name is derived. The company, still in family ownership, is now located on Barrow Road, Wincobank, just to the north of the Meadowhall Centre adjacent to junction 34 of the M1 motorway, from where our name, positioned on our workshop gable-end, can be clearly seen. We hold ISO 9001 accreditation for the design and manufacture of mechanical handling and special purpose machines. We pride ourselves on our ability to design and manufacture both conventional and special purpose equipment and are confident that we can offer our customers good value, soundly engineered solutions to their handling problems.
